Kitchen and Bath Applications
Kitchen
Whether your choice is acrylic, granite, or quartz, each material offers its own individual look, beauty and charm.
Acrylics,(most people are familiar with the brand name Corian), provide the ease and versatility required by today's busy families while still providing plenty of creativity. Beautiful seamless sinks that meld into the seamless countertops as you stop to contemplate your options: Custom edges and inlays, coving to eliminate the dirt and grime that usually accumulate where the backsplash and countertop meet, integrated drain boards to eliminate ugly dish drainers, stainless steel trivets to set hot dishes on, matching windowsills. The ideas are limitless. Prefer stainless steel or drop in ceramic sinks? Not a problem. Both work well with acrylic countertops.
Quartz stone countertops are a beauty to behold. Offering both the look and feel of granite but with no required maintainance, quartz stone is elegant yet practical. Quartz stone is superior in strength to granite and features a sleek, smooth surface, brilliant with a natural luster. In addition to its natural beauty, quartz is made to be extremely durable, cleans up with warm soap and water, and is stain resistant. Perfect for the cook or baker in your house who doesn’t want to have to worry about stains, bacteria, or having to seal the countertops. Quartz stone - what could be better?
Granite is a beautiful stone that comes in a variety of patterns and looks. It requires more care then acrylics or quartz and must be sealed on a regular basis, a minimum of twice a year. Spills must be wiped up immediately in order to avoid staining. For customers seeking the look of “veining” which runs the length of the countertops, granite is the perfect choice.
Bath
Acrylic solid surface offers many options for the bathroom. From custom made-to-order shower pans to shower and bathtub walls and acrylic shower caddies for your soap and shampoos, this is truly a versatile product. Shower pans and caddies can be fabricated to match the wall color or if you prefer, install a contrasting color pan and caddy.
Shower and tubs walls are a breeze to keep clean requiring only warm soap and water To aid in keeping your walls spot free, simply towel dry or sqeegey the walls down when you are done with your shower. There are no grout lines as with tile, and no glossy top surface which can be broken down as with fiberglass or cultured marble. Walls can be made to accommodate any ceiling height and acrylic will look beautiful year after year.
Engineered marble brands including “Piedrafina” have recently emerged as a elegant and classic alternative for shower and tub walls. Recognizing the consumer’s desire for a seam free alternative, this beautiful and maintenance free product is manufactured in sheets wide enough to go up on a wall without seams. Unlike tradition marble which is both soft and porous, engineered marble is both durable and non-porous. In addition to being used for walls and vanity tops, this is a great product on a island top for the baker in your life!
Vanity tops can be fabricated to include seamless integral sinks as well as under mount or drop in ceramic sinks. Custom coving eliminates the dirt that seems to accumulate around the back and sides of the vanity top. Like the tub and shower walls, warm, soapy water is all that is required to clean the surface. His and her vanity tops (at different height levels) are available as well as custom built "banjo" vanity tops (where the vanity top extends over the toilet).
If your bathroom includes a Jacuzzi or roman tub, consider an acrylic top deck, as well as as front and side skirt. Acrylic tub surrounds are the perfect complement to match that vanity top and shower or tub walls.
Bathroom windows receive special treatment at Monarch Solid Surface Designs. Each window frame is built to resemble a "picture" frame, giving your windows a custom and decorative look.
In recent years quartz stone has gained popularity in bathrooms as well as kitchens. Because of its non-porous nature it is an excellent choice for vanity tops even in the kids' bathroom. As mentioned above, engineered marble provides a beautiful and elegant look to vanity tops whether matching shower or tub walls, or making a statement on it’s own.- Back to top
